Privacy Notice
This notice explains how personal data is processed when you subscribe to [un]agentic, a monthly security engineering newsletter, at unagentic.javan.de. It is intended to meet information duties under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and related German rules for email communication.

2. What we collect
- Email address (required) — to send the publication
- First name (optional) — to personalise messages if provided
- Technical metadata — approximate country (from the CDN), user agent, signup time, and the consent text/version you agreed to
3. Purpose and legal basis
We process your data to send you [un]agentic and related service messages (for example confirmation or unsubscribe notices).
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). For email advertising / promotional content, German unfair competition law (UWG § 7) also requires prior consent. You give that consent by actively checking the box on the signup form before submitting.
4. What you agree to when you subscribe
By checking the consent box and submitting the form, you agree that:
- We may send you [un]agentic by email (at most one email per month, unless we write otherwise in a specific message).
- We may store your email address (and optional first name) for this purpose until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
- You have read this Privacy Notice.
You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (for example via the unsubscribe link in each email, or by contacting the controller). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
5. Processors / hosting
The signup site and database run on Cloudflare (Workers / D1). Cloudflare may process data as a processor in countries outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards (for example Standard Contractual Clauses). See Cloudflare’s documentation and data processing terms for details.
6. Retention
We keep your subscription data while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove or anonymise it within a reasonable period, unless a longer retention is required for legal defence of consent (for example limited logging of consent evidence).
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may have the right to:
- access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing
- data portability
- object to processing (where applicable)
- withdraw consent at any time
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Germany, typically your state data protection authority / Landesbeauftragte)

8. No sale of data
We do not sell your email address. We do not use the signup form for tracking ads.
